We’re building a nation here, not baking cookies

In an article that would make George Will smile, Robert Kagan uses some baseball metaphors in “Iraq and Averages.” Essentially, Kagan argues that the focus on recent violence in Iraq misses the big picture: “Now, the United States could conceivably lose in Iraq, just as Jeter could some day hit under .200 for a whole season. But the odds are against it, and it is certainly far too early to make that judgment.”
