Power vacuum in Syria

Wall Street Journal: "Assad’s Rule Collapses in Syria, Raising Concerns of a Vacuum - Outside powers maneuver for influence as a regime that controlled the divided country for half a century melts away."

I was listening to an interview with a professor knowledgeable with Syria and the interviewer asked about Syria falling "in a couple of days."  The professor corrected him and said "it will be a couple of hours."  Good call!

Syria is at the nexus of the Russian & Iranian influence in the Middle East so who knows what's going to happen.  I'd like to say it's good to reduce Putin's reach but, well, we'll see.
