The mistake I made once talking to a liberal was assuming she cared about the Laffer Curve. She made it very clear that taxes should penalize the rich and re-distribute wealth from the rich to the poor - not just fund the government.
Then she had to leave to visit her rich retired parents in their $million Florida condo where they live to avoid Maine taxes (and weather).
